The
CCLW continues to be the premier commercial law event for
lawyers throughout the Caribbean.
Now in its 10th successful year, this year's conference
promises to be the most informative yet.
Among
the topics to be discussed are: "Private International
Law and Commercial Litigation;" “Insurance Law;”
and “Oil and Gas,” to name a few.
The increasing volume of cross-border litigation in the
area of Commercial Law in the region has made this topic
compulsory. The
workshop already has a commitment from Bryan
Finlay, QC and Frank E. Walwyn
of Weirfoulds, LLP, Toronto, Canada, to address this topic.
They will be joined by Professor Winston Anderson, the
holder of the Professorial Chair in Private International Law
in the Faculty of Law, UWI.
It is also timely that the Workshop explores “Oil and
Gas” as a major topic.
Besides
the expected high level of intellectual content at this year's
CCLW, the event continues to provide a unique and rare
networking opportunity for Caribbean commercial lawyers,
business executives and persons in the financial services
sector to meet and exchange information and ideas.
The
venue for this year’s Workshop is the recently opened
Hyatt Regency Trinidad, a five-star hotel located on the
waterfront in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
The hotel has a fabulous view and has already
positioned itself to be the premier business hotel in Trinidad
and Tobago.
It
is expected that this year’s conference will be the best
ever. We therefore
hope you would join us in August.
