Dave
Kissoon joined the New York office of Cozen O’Connor
in March 2005 and is resident in our New York and London
offices. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate
at one of New York’s leading commercial litigation
firms. Admitted to practice in New York, Dave is also
admitted to the Bar of England and Wales, where he holds
qualification status as a barrister at law. He is also
admitted to the Bars of Barbados, Guyana and Trinidad.
Dave earned law degrees from the University of London,
University College in 1998 and Cornell Law School in
2001. He attended the Inns of Court School of Law in
1999, where he qualified as a Barrister. He practiced in
England as a Barrister at the leading commercial
litigation chambers, Essex Court Chambers (Gordon
Pollock Q.C.) from 1999 to 2001, specializing in
arbitration and general commercial litigation. Dave has
recently obtained the Legal Education Certificate from
Council Of Legal Education which enables him to practice
in almost every Commonwealth Caribbean country.
Dave actively litigates cases in jurisdictions
throughout the U.S., including Texas, California, and
South Carolina, as well as in England. He routinely
handles a wide spectrum of complex commercial litigious
matters in variety of practice areas, including but not
limited to administrative law, entertainment (including
copyright and trademarks), immigration, international
law, bankruptcy, real estate, landlord tenant,
insurance, maritime, oil and gas, zoning and corporate
governance. He has tried numerous cases, both jury and
non-jury, and routinely handles appellate work.
Dave's international client base includes commercial
clients resident in Singapore, India, Bangladesh, the
United Kingdom, Guyana and Trinidad.
Additionally, Dave's practice also extends to the
Commonwealth Caribbean, where he currently represents
institutional clients throughout the Caribbean region.
There, Dave routinely represents clients on a wide range
of litigious matters, including trademarks and
copyright, breach of contract, immigration, insurance,
anti dumping, construction law, maritime, oil and gas,
and environmental matters, as well as advising clients
on transactional matters and corporate formation
