HON. MARK A.G. BRANTLEY
Daniel, Brantley & Associates, Charlestown, Nevis. 

Mr. Mark Brantley

Current Practice Information: His practice areas include Banking & Finance, Civil and Commercial Litigation, Company Law, Commercial and Offshore Trust Services, and Real Estate.

Mark obtained his law degree from the University of the West Indies and his Legal Education Certificate from Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica. Mark also holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford.

He practices extensively before the High Court and Court of Appeal and has been involved in several pieces of high end commercial litigation including a shareholder dispute in a company valued at over US$3 billion and the first class action law suit brought in the Eastern Caribbean under the provisions of the Civil Procedure Rules 2000 representing over 120 Claimants. Some of the notable cases in which he has been involved include The Nevis Island Administration v. La Copropriete Du Navire J31 et al (Rawlins, JA); Platinum Trading Limited v. Craig Reeves (CA); Gigi Osco-Bingeman et al v. John Paul de Joria (HC and CA); Hotel de Health (Caribbean) Inc. v. Ronald Webster (CA); Hansa Bank v. The Attorney General of Anguilla (HC); The Attorney General of St. Kitts & Nevis & Anor. v Queensway Trustees Limited (HC and CA); Surfside Trading Limited v. Joe Brice et al (HC).

Mark has recently entered political life and currently serves as a Senator on the Opposition Benches in the Nevis Island Administration (2006 -) and as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of the Federation of St.. Kitts and Nevis (2007 -). He is also a radio talk show host and has a weekly 2 hour sociopolitical show on VON Radio 895am or www.vonradio.com . He is married and has 2 daughters.

Career:  Tutor, Constitutional and Administrative Law U.W.I., Mona, 1992-94; Tutor, Constitutional Law and Civil Rights at Stanford University Centre, Oxford, 1995; Counsel, Legal Department, Nevis Island Government, 1995-96; Member, Nevis Constitutional Commission, 1996; Advisor on Financial Services, Nevis Island Government, 1996-present; President, Nevis International Business Association, 1997.

Awards: Nevis Island Scholar, 1989; Most Outstanding First Year Student, NMLS, 1993; Most Outstanding Student over two years, NMLS, 1994; Graduated 1st in Class NMLS, 1994; Certificate of Merit, NMLS, 1994 (4th such award in the Law School's history); Michael March Memorial Prize for Outstanding Work in the Law of Remedies, NMLS, 1994; Winter Williams Commonwealth Scholar, Oxford, 1994.
